Interference

Interference explores the psychological phenomenon by the same name which occurs when one memory is mistakenly and unknowingly replaced by another by the psyche during memory recall. In this series, I use 8mm home movies from my personal archives and physically interfere with them by reticulating the emulsion of the Kodachrome film by melting the emulsion layer and warping the film substrate layer with pressurized steam.
